Free Arm-Based Kubernetes on Oracle Cloud

cloudkubernetes

You can run a Kubernetes cluster on Oracle Cloud completely for free. This is a great way to run personal websites, side projects and try new things for absolutely nothing. The Oracle Cloud always-free tier includes:

  • Oracle Kubernetes Engine (OKE) control plane - Basic
  • 4 OCPUs for Ampere A1 Compute instances (ARM based)
  • 24GB of memory
  • 200GB of block volumes
  • A Flex load balancer with 10 Mbps traffic allowance
  • 10TB of outbound data transfer per month

You will need to upgrade your account to PAYG from Free-tier, otherwise you'll run into capacity issues when provisioning.

For the record, I'm not the biggest fan of Oracle the cloud or the company, nonetheless, this is a great offer that has apparently been running for the last 3 years. Fantastic!
